DAY 1 - 22 Nov 2017

I flew from Bintulu to KLIA in the morning and waited at KLIA2 Level 2 for about 2 hours. The registration took about 1 hour and the bus journey took about 1 hour. We arrived at Boustead Cruise Centre, Port Klang at around 6.00 pm.

I am so excited because that was my very first cruise trip together with all the successful business people. This is not just a normal trip but a platform for me to be better and learn from the experts.

First night was a FREE & EASY night for all of us. We had our superb seafood buffet dinner at Mariners. The food were so delicious and we really eat as if there’s no tomorrow haha. The view was excellent as we are almost at the top of the ship. Ala ala Titanic gitue!

We just mingled around the lobby after the safety briefing by the safety officers.

I was surprised to receive a special reward from my nanny! Habib Jewels reward for our superb performance in Aug, Sept and Oct! Thanks nanny Ita. Sayang you so so much. Hehe

My Shaklee Journey

Hi! Today I am going to share my Shaklee journey with all of you.

I am not a supplement person. Not that I don’t trust supplements but I just don’t like to swallow pills. Haha. Even if I sick, I prefer to stay home and rest, sweat it out and let my body recover on its own.

BUT...
I started to consume vitamins diligently when I was pregnant with Jayden. First pregnancy, so I am super paranoid lol. I wanted the best for my baby so I took multivitamin, Neurogain and calcium tablets consistently. The same goes to baby Jeana. I took everything my gynae gave me.

After I gave birth to baby Jeana, I had a terrible back pain. Seriously it was super pain especially when I carried her. My gynae advised me to take more healthy food and calcium. Since I was fully breastfeeding baby Jeana at that time, calcium is very very important for me. But I can’t take drink milk because I have lactose intolerance.

And soon after my confinement, I had a terrible skin. I was very pale and my skin looked super dull. I felt myself getting older by 10 years right after my confinement. Sob sob…

Aging is no joke wei. Haha.

I did a lot of surveys and Googled here and there during my maternity leaves. And I found out Shaklee supplements. My very first bonus without any capital. I became more and more excited to work harder. Haha.

I am thankful for the opportunity and super blessed with the achievements I get today. My hard work is paid off. And I will continue to strive to be Master Coordinator 2018.

With Shaklee business, I finally have the courage to resign from my 9-5 office job as an Engineer. Not that the pay is low, I just feel stressed working as an Engineer and keep worrying about my children. It was not easy to arrange time to fetch my son from school, to arrange who to take care of them if they fall sick, to arrange who to take care of them if school is closed etc.

I have no regret with the decision I made. I am a happier person with time flexibility to enjoy my life together with my children.

So, my advise to all of you; Dare to Dream, Dare to Make a Change.

6 Complete Nutrients that a Preggy Mom Needs

I am not a supplement person since young. Not that I don't trust supplements but I am just too lazy to take them and I feel that I am still strong enough to really need supplements yet haha.

PREGNANT!! 

But when I was pregnant with Jayden, I took all the vitamins and supplements given by the doctor diligently, never skip any of them lol. I was really paranoid about pregnancy at that time because there were lots of bad news I have heard about pregnancy among my friends.

I knew that a healthy body gives a smooth sailing pregnancy and healthy baby.

Here, I have compiled a list of essential and complete nutrient that a preggy mom needs based on the noted given by a Gynae.

Protein
Protein is the composition of large organic molecules; amino acids. Protein is responsible for acting as the building block of the cells of the body. In a pregnant woman, protein is required for both the mother and the baby. A baby’s cellular growth depends on the protein intake of the mother, especially during the second and the third trimesters. During that time, the mother’s body starts to develop and get bigger to attain the capacity of holding the baby in the womb. The breasts and other organs become bigger in order to provide the baby with appropriate nutritional needs. Protein is also required for producing energy in a pregnant woman’s body. During pregnancy, a woman goes through physical exhaustion because she carries another living being inside her body and protein intake becomes mandatory to avoid the exhaustion by producing sufficient energy.

Folic Acid
Vitamin B complex is scientifically known as folic acid. It is usually found in green and leafy vegetables. It acts as a major nutrient in both before and during pregnancy of a woman. The embryo has a neural tube which develops into brain and spine of the baby and if there is any defect in the neural tube during pregnancy, then there is risk of birth defects of spinal cord or brain of the baby. To prevent this, folic acid is a must diet for a pregnant woman. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that women who take the recommended daily dose of folic acid starting at least one month before conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy, reduce their baby's risk of neural tube defects by up to 70 percent. Various critical defects such as- cleft palate, cleft lip, heart defects and preeclampsia can also occur if folic acid is not added to the pregnancy diet.

Omega 3
This particular nutrient is not synthesized inside the human body. So, it needs to be taken from the dietary supplements. Omega 3 basically helps in maintaining a balance in the regulation of prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is a hormone which functions to maintain blood clots, inflammatory and allergic responses and blood pressure. During pregnancy, the blood pressure tends to be a bit higher than normal because of the overall physiological condition of the mother. This is why, omega 3 is necessary to be consumed during pregnancy.

Calcium
The primary function of calcium is to build strong teeth and bone. During pregnancy, a mother needs to have sufficient amount of calcium intake for the adequate formation of bone for the baby. It is also required to prevent the risk of preeclampsia and hypertension during birth. The regular intake of calcium for women aged from 19-50 years should be 1000mg before, during and after pregnancy.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is generally consumed from fruits. The regular intake of vitamin C for a pregnant woman should be 80mg per day for women aged from 19 to older. Collagen is a protein that makes up various bones and cartilages and also provides a protection against skin diseases. But during pregnancy, overuse of vitamin C supplements can cause ill health as well. So the usage should be kept at optimum.

Iron
Iron is a very important mineral which is found both naturally and from dietary supplements. Iron is a major component of hemoglobin which builds up the red blood cells in the body. Iron deficiency may lead a person to have anemia- a blood disorder that result in pallor and weariness. So, if a pregnant woman does not receive the proper amount of iron in her pregnancy diet, then her baby will be in risk to blood diseases.

Garlic and Pimples; How does Garlic help in Pimples?

Pimple is generally known as the small elevated inflammation of the skin. It causes pain in the affected area and if some people are not patient with it, they poke the area and make it last longer than usual causing a reddened skin and more inflammation. 

Dermatologists and beauty enthusiasts have observed that garlic is such a vegetable that holds a strong role in getting rid of pimples from skin. Garlic basically possesses some therapeutic activities which come handy while removing pimples from acne pro skin.

Allicin is a pungent oily liquid which is found in garlic. The antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral properties of garlic are because of the presence of allicin. These properties kill the bacteria that cause acne. Anti-inflammatory properties of garlic decrease the irritation, pain and swelling. 

Vitamins and minerals are needed for the skin to recover that time and garlic helps improving the blood circulation so that the skin receives the most of the vitamins and minerals. After the recovery, sometimes, pimple marks still remain which can be embarrassing for some people. Garlic also helps in decreasing the mark by being a drying agent. 

Garlic possesses a compound called thiacremonon which is mainly responsible for this function. It fights with insulin resistance which is linked to acne. The use of garlic oil helps to improve the insulin sensitivity. Its anti – oxidant property helps to fight against free radicals. Free radicals are massively destructive to skin cells. So, garlic being an antioxidant, helps to reduce the problem to greater extends. The immune system tends to be strengthened by the regular intake of garlic.

Process of administering garlic on pimples: A garlic piece needs to be taken and cut to extract the juice from it. Then the garlic should be rubbed on the desired area of the skin. The whiteheads tend to vanish right after the administration. For the removal of pimples, the garlic should kept spread on the skin overnight. 

Garlic can be used topically for removing pimples. But not everyone is immune to raw garlic and its juice. At first, garlic should be tried out on a small area of the skin just to figure out if the person is allergic to it. if it starts itching, then usage of garlic as a pimple remover for that person should be big “no”.

If you are allergy to raw garlic, you may try Garlic supplements in tablet form. Just 1 - 2 tablets daily. Just add some water if you wanna try out Garlic mask.

SIMPLE DIY Mask for Oily Skin

Oily skin can be quite problematic in hot weather because oily and greasy skin tends to catch dirt and dust all the time. The skin therefore becomes acne prone because of excess accumulation of dirt and oil. There are some DIY (Do It Yourself) procedures which is easy to follow and very effective on skin. 

Banana Face Mask: 
1 fully ripe banana, 1 tablespoon honey and an orange or a lemon should be taken. Ripe bananas can be kept in the freezer for preservation. Before using them, they should be thawed at first.   Either they can be mashed up or be blended. Then it was mixed with lemon or orange. Then the mask should be applied on to skin for 15 minutes. Then a soft cloth should be used to remove the mask and moisture the skin. 

Tomatoes Face Masks: 
Tomatoes facial masks are very useful to manage oily skin, as they help in dissolving extra oil and at the same time work to reduce size of large looking pores. It has natural astringent that makes it a perfect choice for greasy and over shiny skin.The simplest form of a tomato face mask is to just mash a tomato and apply on oily face area for about 15 minutes. If this mask is used for 1-3 days per week then the skin will become healthy, flawless and even-toned by removing the scar marks. 

Oatmeal, Lemon Juice and Honey Facial Mask: 
Organic oatmeal, lemon juice and honey are mixed altogether. Then the mixture is ready to be applied on to skin. Application can be done more on or around the area of the eyes. Then it can be kept for 10 minutes and rinse it off with water. Usage of warm water is beneficial in this case. This mask is required to keep the skin fresh and less oily. it is better to use once a day to have a refreshing skin tone and soft surface. 

Vitamin C Mask: 

Vitamin C provides protective effects by increasing the collagen levels in our body. The simplest and cost effective Vitamin C mask is to mix a table of Vitamin C with water and apply it onto our face. The mask is very refreshing and you can see the firmer skin effect after 1 to 2 applications.

Do We Really Need Collagen?
